Easter grass is wheat grass that I grew from wheat berries.

Using wheat from your pantry, grow a little wheat in a lined basket (use a plastic bag, cellophane, or aluminum foil to line the basket) to make real Easter grass. You can use this as a centerpiece or to fill your children's Easter baskets.

To make eggs like the one I did above:

You will use a white or clear crayon for the whole thing.

First, draw all of the white parts on the white egg (such as the flower petals, or any other design that you want to have white). Fill in the areas as well as you can.

Dye the egg yellow.

Dry egg thoroughly.

Dye the egg green.

Dye the egg blue.

At this point, I stopped with my design, as I was going for a blue sky look, but you could always do one more layer and use purple as well.

In the last 11 years, I have bought Easter Egg dye twice. After Easter, we bought several packages on clearance. We keep them in a box with our plastic eggs. We bought 5 years worth at .25 a box. We use 2 boxes each year to make egg dying go faster with many children. We buy vinegar in bulk at Sam's Club (some varieties don't need vinegar).
